Nick Porter Judges Moot Court Competition
Attorney Nick Porter participated as a judge at the International Environmental Moot Court Competition that was held April 14-16, 2016 at Stetson University. The competition is the world's largest moot court competition devoted to global environmental issues and is held to foster the development of a group of young leaders from universities around the world who will have the ability to promote environmentally sustaining decision-making.

Florida Bar Appellate Practice Certification Committee Appoints David M. Caldevilla as Vice Chair
The Florida Bar Appellate Practice Certification Committee recently appointed shareholder, David Caldevilla, to serve as their Vice-Chair for the 2016-2017 term. The Appellate Practice Certification Committee is a standing committee of The Florida Bar and is responsible for the evaluation of competency, experience, and professionalism of attorneys seeking board certification in the area of appellate practice.
David has practiced with de la Parte & Gilbert since 1989 and has been a Board Certified Appellate Lawyer since 1997. In addition to his appellate cases, he also focuses his practice on administrative, civil litigation, environmental, eminent domain and government cases. Rich Gilbert Teaches at Advanced Trial Advocacy Seminar
de la Parte & Gilbert Shareholder, Richard Gilbert, participated as an instructor at The Florida Bar’s Advanced Trial Advocacy Seminar held May 10-14, 2016 at the University of Florida. The program was sponsored by The Florida Bar Trial Lawyer’s Section and the University of Florida Frederic G. Levin College of Law.
The Advanced Trial Advocacy Seminar is an intense interactive program that provides lectures, demonstrations and hand-on trial skills training. The faculty consists of trial court judges and board certified trial lawyers from around the state.

The "Super Lawyers" distinctions were given in the areas of Environmental Litigation, Business Litigation, Construction Litigation, Appellate, and Environmental.
de la Parte & Gilbert Raises Funds for Miles for Moffitt
Team de la Parte & Gilbert rallied together to support the 11th Annual Miles for Moffitt held at the University of South Florida Sun Dome on Saturday, May 14th.
Miles for Moffitt is a family event that welcomes runners and walkers who are interested in getting a healthy dose of exercise while helping Moffitt Cancer Center carry on its mission to help prevent and cure cancer. This year's event raised more than $600,000 and had over 5,000 participants competing in the 15K Challenge, 10K, 5K, 1-Mile Run/Walk, Wheelchair Race, Kids Dash and as virtual runners. One-hundred percent of all registration fees and donations go directly to support cancer research at Moffitt.
