Ed de la Parte Fortifies County Legal Team in Upcoming Trial

Martin County has chosen de la Parte & Gilbert attorney Ed de la Parte to strengthen their legal team in preparation for an upcoming trial against the owners of a large piece of property in western Martin County.

de la Parte is being added now in a lawsuit that was filed nearly three years ago. The trial is set to take place in September of this year. In summary, Lake Point owns roughly 2,000 acres in western Martin County. In exchange for rock mining rights, the company agreed to turn its land over to the South Florida Water Management District with an understanding that a storm water treatment facility was to be developed on the land. Things didn't go according to plan and in 2013 the property owners sued the county. Further details of the case can be found here.

Ed de la Parte is a Board Certified State and Federal Government and Administrative Practice lawyer. He has been with the firm of de la Parte & Gilbert for almost forty years and concentrates his practice in the areas of Water Law, Environmental Law, and Land Use. Ed can be reached at edelaparte@dgfirm.com.
