  • How do I protest a contract solicitation or award? Act fast! A proposer’s notice of protest must be filed with the office that issued the contract solicitation within 72 hours after the posting of the agency decision. A formal, written bid protest must be filed within 10 days after the notice of protest is filed. Failure to comply with all applicable statutes and rules will result in a waiver of your right to challenge the award.

    I finally bought a waterfront home. Now, what do I have to do to build a dock? Before you start to build, you may need to obtain a dock permit from your local government and/or the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. It is important to make sure you have all of your permits in place in order to avoid costly fines or the removal of your dock.     Am I allowed to trim or cut those mangroves near the edge of my waterfront property? Before you start cutting, be sure that you comply with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s rules for mangrove trimming or alterations. Any alterations, other than trimming, require a permit from the DEP. For more information, Click Here.

    How quickly does a state agency need to act on my permit application? Generally, a state agency is required to approve, deny, or request additional information regarding a permit or license application within 90 days of receipt of the application.

    Does my personal well need a consumptive use or water use permit? Generally, domestic water consumption by individual users is exempted from water management district consumptive use permitting requirements.
