L. David de la Parte joined the firm upon receiving his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in December of 1985.  David's practice focus is health care, transactional and governmental.  David is General Counsel to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, a non-profit teaching and cancer research hospital on the campus of the University of South Florida, the Florida State Pilots’ Association, a state association of harbor pilots, and the Johnnie B. Byrd, Sr. Alzheimer’s Center and Research Institute, a non-profit research center dedicated to preventing and finding a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.  In addition, a significant aspect of David's practice includes representation of governmental and quasi-governmental agencies.  David is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and was included with Florida Trend Magazine’s 2004 Florida Legal Elite.

David is firmly committed to ensuring the highest level of professional standards for himself and the firm, and believes that an important element of that commitment is contributions to the needs of the community.  Accordingly, David is past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the District 6 Health and Human Services Board for Hillsborough and Manatee Counties.  David is on the Board of Directors of the Associated Marine Institutes, a private, not-for-profit organization which establishes and operates programs for the rehabilitation of delinquent youth, and is on the Board of Directors and past Chairman of Tampa Marine Institute and Youth Environmental Services, non-residential and residential juvenile delinquency programs.  In 1995, David served as Co-Chair of the Governor's Special Panel on Child Protection.
