While in law school, Eric was a member of the prestigious Justice Campbell Thornal Appellate Moot Court Team. He was active on the executive board serving a term as the events chair and as the vice-president. During his time on the team, he competed in two national appellate competitions including the Chicago Bar Competition and the Henry G. Manne Law and Economics Competition. Eric and his two teammates were awarded the “first place team” prize in the Henry G. Manne Law and Economics Competition, where he argued before a panel of federal judges and Federal Trade Commission lawyers. He also volunteered his time as a student ambassador for incoming first year law students, helping them adjust to their new lives as law students.
Prior to clerking at de la Parte & Gilbert, Eric was a law clerk with a law firm in Melbourne, Florida, where he worked in the area of civil litigation. Before law school, Eric worked as a full-time political fundraiser for Congresswoman Kathy Castor, and for former Florida Education Commissioner and U.S. Senate candidate, Betty Castor.
Eric graduated from New College of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. While there, he wrote a thesis analyzing the relationships between the media, political actors, and public opinion under the direction of now Florida State Representative Dr. Keith Fitzgerald. |
